The ASU MPA Program is specifically geared to prepare students for today's workplace. The program provides students with the specific skills in financial and human resource management, research, and data analysis that are essential to success in a public service career. In addition, students learn about the political, social, and economic environment in which public and non-profit organizations operate and public policy is made and implemented.

The MPA faculty are a talented team of traditional academics, “pracademics” (full-time faculty with doctoral degrees and work experience in the “real world”), and professionals who teach part-time but work full-time in the public or nonprofit sectors. This mix ensures students get cutting-edge theory and stay in touch with current professional practice. With a strong emphasis on teaching, small class size, and access to first-rate technology, our faculty creates the best possible learning environment for each individual student.

With classes scheduled in the evenings, and on weekends, the program schedule is designed to support the needs of busy working professionals while still providing the personal touch that only a classroom can provide. Our MPA program also offers a wealth of opportunities, including the chance to travel and attend conferences, work with faculty on research that benefits our community, join our honor society, and do an internship. In the process, our students make many new friends and professional contacts that can last a lifetime.
