Box Office
Thank you for your interest in the volunteer box office position at the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. This year the theatre is expanding its services. One of the areas it is focusing on is box office operations. While we have received funding to begin operations, this funding will only allow for limited box office hours. Volunteers can play a pivotal role in allowing us to better serve our patrons. Box Office volunteers will sell tickets to events and answer questions over the phone and in person. Volunteers should be good with people, and have good computer and money handling skills.

Reception
Thank you for your interest in the volunteer reception position at the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. The reception position is much like the box office position without the tickets. Volunteers interested in this position should be good on the phone and have good people skills.

Both positions require more of a commitment than our ushering positions. Although they do not require a great deal of time, they do require consistent time. Even if you only have a couple of hours free per week, we would love to talk to you about these positions.

Since the people in these positions will be the voice of the theatre and in the case of the box office positions they will ihandling money and confidential information, we will be more careful in our “hiring” than we would for volunteer usher positions. We will ask interested volunteers to fill out some basic paperwork, complete a short interview and allow Augusta State University to conduct a criminal background check. Current ASU faculty, staff, or student employees are not required to complete a background check.
