Augusta State University students return to the stage this week in a dramatic concert featuring the ASU Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. Dr. Linda Banister, mezzo-soprano, joins the Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven's Ah, Perfido, Op.65, a story of a young woman's love, rage, and regret when she is betrayed by her lover. The Wind Ensemble will perform equally dramitic repretoire concluding with Steven Reineke's Fate of the Gods, an epic story of good and evil, inspired by Nordic mythology.

On Friday, the Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society brings the Fine Arts Quartet back to the Maxwell Theatre stage. The Fine Arts Quartet is one of the most distinguished ensembles in chamber music today.

Ballet Folklórico de Antioquia, Colombia is a cultural organization with a 20-year trajectory that promotes the strengthening of Colombian cultural identities. The ballet was a special guest at the Beijing Olympic games in 2008-the first Colombian group to ever participate in such an event. They have been critically acclaimed for their professionalism, high technical level, and artistic quality.
