Employee of the Quarter

Alexander Hines was named the Physical Plant Employee of the Quarter. Mr. Hines, works in the grounds maintance department. Recommended by his peers, he was selected for the award based on his job knowledge, dependability, attitude, quality of work, initiative, safety record, and interactions with others. Mr. Hines has been employed as a groundskeeper for the past 13 years at Augusta State University. He can usually be found around campus helping to keep the grounds beautiful. Mr. Hines says he likes to keep the grounds clean and he enjoys his job and the people he works with. He was born in Burke County, GA and is a life long resident of Richmond County, GA. He's the proud father of ten children, twenty-seven grandchildren, one great grand and one on the way. When he's not playing with the grandchildren he spends time fishing and hunting. “His great work performance and stellar attendance were a few reasons why he was selected,” says Max Brown, supervisor for grounds maintenance.
