Curtis Kilgore has been named the Physical Plant Employee of the First Quarter. “Curtis has been a great addition to the physical plant and building maintenance family,” says Tim Dobbs, building maintenance supervisor.
Kilgore, an Augusta native, says, “I'm a carpenter by trade. Having worked here for a year now, I've realized the most enjoyable part of my job is my coworkers. They're helpful and knowledgeable, and I'm so thankful to them for holding me in high esteem and putting me in my position.”
In September 2009, Kilgore enrolled at the University of Phoenix, where he's seeking a bachelor's degree in Business Management. Upon graduating in 2013, he says, “Ideally, I'd like to move up in the Physical Plant. ASU means not only a job, but something to strive for in my degree and life.”
When he's not involved with class assignments or on the job, Kilgore enjoys his two passions: basketball and football. “I'm a Georgia boy, born and raised here, so I'm a fan of the Falcons, Bulldogs, Hawks, and the Augusta State Jaguars,” he says with a smile.
Curtis has a son (Kaloub) and a daughter ( Curtia); “One of the most rewarding parts of being a father was seeing my son graduate from high school,” says Kilgore.
