Using
the System
Does
it matter if I use Internet Explorer or Netscape? NO!
As
long as it is compatible with Internet Explorer 5, Netscape 4.7, or
higher. If you experience problems when using a browser other than Internet
Explorer or Netscape, make sure your operating system's "Java Virtual
Machine" is current. (Note: Netscape version 6.0 had many problems
and is not supported by many software programs, including Campus Pipeline.)
- How do I connect?
- Can I access my e-mail from off-campus? If so, how? YES!
- Will I be able to access my stored e-mail messages from off campus?
YES!
- If you can access the Internet, you can access the Campus Pipeline
system.
- If you can access the Campus Pipeline system, you have access
to all your messages and folders.
- Note for faculty and staff: If you use an e-mail reader
other than Campus Pipeline and store messages and folders
on another computer you will need to be at that computer to
see those folders and messages..
Space Limitations
- How much storage space will I have for my messages?
- Students have 10M of storage space (many
more times than most free services)!
- Faculty and staff have 100M.
Attachments

Can I send and receive attachments?
Yes.

Are there any limits to the attachments, like sizes
or number? Yes. No more than
5 files may be attached. There are size limitations as well. When
you add your attachments the computer will add the sizes and warn
you if you are exceeding the limits.

Address Books
- Can I bring my old address book into the Campus Pipeline system?
If so, how? YES!
- What about my groups of E-mail addresses? The
names of the groups will transfer, but the names of the individuals
within the group will not transfer. You will need to recreate the groups
within the Pipeline system. NOTE: If you have groups with
large numbers of people, you should consider using a mailing
list instead. It makes maintaining the list easier.
