Paralegal
This non-credit certificate program consists of six courses offered under the auspices
of the Department of Political Science. An application must submit official transcripts
showing the equivalent of 54 semester hours of transferable credit from a regionally
accredited college or university. Applicants must be approved for regular admission
to the university, and must be approved by the Chair of the Political Science Department
before registering for courses in the Paralegal curriculum.
The paralegal courses run for two semesters. Three classes are offered in
the fall semseter and three in the spring semester. The classes are scheduled on Tuesday
and Thursday nights starting at 5:30 p.m. and lasting until 9:45 p.m. Each class is a hour
and 15 minutes long with a 15 minute break in between each class.

European Union Studies Certificate
A certificate in EU Studies must be taken in tandem with a formal degree program. Students
from all academic majors are eligible to participate so long as they possess a minimum 2.75
cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA). A student may formally apply to enroll in the program
after successful completion of the following:
(1) the certificate's introductory course in European Union Studies with a grade of "C" or better;
(2) 30 semester hours of academic credit; and, (3) a course in World or Western Civilization.
Certificate in Latin American Studies
The undergraduate Certificate in Latin American Studies recognizes a student's knowledge
and understanding of a region of growing importance, both economically and culturally. The
course of study is designed to be interdisciplinary and complementary to existing
undergraduate programs. Those who satisfy the certificate requirements of their B.A./B.S.,
will be awarded a Certificate in Latin American Studies.
