Quick Reference Library

Policies and Procedures

The purpose of the Quick Reference Library is to provide a centralized location for commonly used reference manuals developed either by Augusta State University or the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

ASU Faculty Manual

A critical resource for all teaching faculty…especially useful for new faculty.

Contains information on professional rights and responsibilities; faculty rank and qualifications; promotion criteria; the tenure process; University Council; University Standing Committees; workload; intellectual property; conflict of interest; and other official policies and procedures that pertain to faculty.

ASU Jaguar Student Handbook

Jaguar Student Handbook

A roadmap for new students… useful to faculty and administrators as well.

Contains information that will help new students successfully acclimate to campus life, including: academic rights; awards and scholastic achievement; student governance; access to student records; student code of conduct; alcohol and drug policy; testing and disabilities services; emergency procedures; and other information that students (and their parents) often need to know.

BOR Policy Manual

The authoritative source of how the university system is governed.

The Georgia Constitution grants to the Board of Regents the exclusive right to govern, control, and manage the University System of Georgia. The BOR Policy Manual contains the directives and policies for that management on multiple levels, including:  institutional governance; academic affairs; student affairs; research; finance and business; personnel; facilities; information technology; and information, records and publications.

ASU Policy & Procedure Manual

ASU Policies & Procedures Manual (NEW!)

A supplement to other manuals…take a look!

The ASU Policies & Procedures Manual was developed as a joint project of the Office of the President and Academic Affairs. It represents an effort to centralize information that impacts the flow of daily activity on the campus. The information is meant to supplement other Board of Regents and ASU manuals and to serve as a repository for key policies and procedures that do not naturally fall within the parameters of the other publications.

BOR Business Procedures Manual

A useful reference document for business and human resources professionals who need to remain current with BOR policy and state law.

The Business Procedures Manual contains the essential procedural components that each institution within the University System of Georgia must follow including: accounting principles and definitions; payroll; purchasing and contracts; budget; banking; travel; and accounts payable.

ASU Employee Handbook

Essential reading for all employees…

Contains information about hiring and employment; compensation and performance;  employee benefits; employee development; standards of conduct (including policy against sexual harassment); vacation; leave plans; retirement plans; workers compensation; and other information every employee should know.  New employees and new managers should keep this at their fingertips!

USG BOR Academic Affairs Handbook

BOR Academic Affairs Handbook

An essential reference.

While the BOR Policy is the authoritative source of information concerning BOR approved policies governing academic and student matters, the Academic Affairs Handbook is the procedural guide for implementing BOR policies related to academic affairs. The purpose of the handbook is to offer procedural information for implementing policy needed by chief academic officers and chief student officers of the institutions of the University System of Georgia.
