Biographical and Educational Background:
Dr. Rossi was born and raised in Massachusetts and received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Mount Holyoke College in 1997. Following work at McLean Hospital and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boston, Dr. Rossi returned to school to pursue a Master of Arts in psychology from Brandeis University . In 2007, she completed a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, as well as a Cognate in College Teaching, from the University of New Hampshire.

Research Interests:
Dr. Rossi's program of research is centered on transitional experiences across the life span. Her aim is to investigate transitional phenomena across diverse contexts and participant groups, including older and emerging adults, and the gay/lesbian population. To address these interests, she draws on theories from developmental psychology and employs both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including behavior assessments, personality inventories, open-ended measures, and content analysis of personal narratives.

Courses:
Dr. Rossi has taught introduction to psychology, child and adolescent development, human development, and quantitative methods. She is looking forward to expanding her teaching repertoire to include other courses ASU has to offer, such as human diversity, human sexuality, and research methods.
