General Information
Members of the faculty are expected to maintain an active and productive program of research that involves students, to serve as advisor to graduate and undergraduate students, to participate in departmental, university, and community service, and to maintain cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Candidates should provide evidence of interest in and experience with directing student research.

With a growing enrollment, the university has undergone major renovations with state-of-the-art classrooms and lab facilities. The Psychology Department consists of a highly collegial group of eleven full-time and approximately twelve adjunct faculty members as well as two staff members. We serve approximately 300 undergraduate psychology majors and 40 graduate students. The department has an established master's program with a MPAC-accredited clinical track, a thesis experimental track, and an applied experimental track.

Augusta is the state's second largest metropolitan area and is within easy driving distance of Atlanta, the mountains and coastal beaches. The area provides affordable housing options and is well-known for golf. The city is home to the Medical College of Georgia (including the Georgia Prevention Institute), Fort Gordon, a regional state mental hospital, Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, and a VA facility with both general medical and psychiatric campuses. The psychology department has professional relationships with these sites, facilitating collaborative research and internship placement for students.
