On January 26, 2002, the Augusta State University Alumni Association will kick off ASU’s homecoming activities with the Annual Alumni Awards Dinner. This is an opportunity to honor distinguished individuals who have worked to further the goals and mission of the university. Awards will be presented in the following five categories:

Distinguished Alumnus/a Award, presented to an alumnus/a who has achieved a level of excellence in his or her chosen profession and who has provided outstanding support to the community and Augusta State University.

Town/Gown Award, presented to a professor or college administrator who has actively worked to unite Augusta State University with the community.

Distinguished Service Award, presented to a non-alumnus/a who has made a significant commitment to furthering the goals and mission of Augusta State University.

Golden Key Award, presented to an alumnus/a who has actively supported Augusta State University and /or the ASU Alumni Association and who is successful in his/her career and community life.

Young Alumnus/a Award, presented to an alumnus/a who has graduated within the last 10 years (class of 1991 or later), is 35 years old or younger, and has manifested special interest in Augusta State University and his or her community.

Last year, Helen Callahan, Jack Connell, Carole Smith, Paulette Harris and Ronald Wiggins were honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award, the Distinguished Service Award, the Golden Key Award, the Town and Gown Award and the Young Alumnus Award, respectively.
