Therese Rosier named assistant vice president for plant operations

Augusta, Ga. – Augusta State University’s Physical Plant Director Therese Rosier was recently named assistant vice president for plant operations, effective Oct. 1.

“Therese’s new title recognizes the growth in demands and scope of her position to meet the increased size and complexity of our physical plant, her increased role in facilities planning and management, and the leadership required to work with a wide range of people and issues,” says Dan Whitfield, vice president for business operations.

Ms. Rosier earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1981 and graduated from Augusta State with a Master of Business Administration in 1986. Then in 1995, she joined the ASU staff as assistant director of the Physical Plant. In 1997, she became the acting director, and in 1998 was named director. In that capacity she has been responsible for all operational and managerial work of the physical plant, including groundskeeping, building maintenance, renovations, providing services for approximately one million square feet of campus facilities, and conducting audits as well as walk-throughs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Since she became director, Ms. Rosier has overseen more than $95 million in new construction and renovations. She has also contributed to both the interior and exterior design as well as space planning of the buildings on campus. Most recently, she assisted with the design of the J. Fleming Norvell Golf House and the design of the ASU Amphitheater, which is currently under construction.

Ms. Rosier is also active in the community. She serves on the board of directors for the Augusta Symphony and the Family Y and is also a member of the national, Southeastern Regional, and Georgia Association of Physical Plant Administrators, and the Society for College and University Planning. She has one son, Trey, who is a senior at Lakeside High School.
