ROTC cadets to be commissioned during ceremony

Augusta, Ga. – Two cadets in Augusta State University’s ROTC program will receive their commissions into the United States Army at the Fall Commissioning Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Washington Hall Towers at ASU.

Mariel J. Greenwood will begin her career in the Transportation Corps with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She will attend the Basic Officers Leadership Course at Ft. Benning, Ga.; upon graduation, she will attend the Transportation Officer Basic Corse in Ft. Eustis, Va. Lt. Greenwood’s first duty assignment will be the 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Elizabeth Williams will begin her career as a Medical Services Corps officer with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Lt. Williams will work at ASU as a Gold Bar recruiter in the military science department. She will then attend the Basic Officers Leadership Course at Ft. Benning, Ga. Upon completion, she will attend the Medical Services Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Lt. William’s first duty assignment will be the 215th Corps Support Battalion, Company C, at Ft. Hood, Texas.
