ASU will host HIV-AIDS Awareness program as part of Black History Month

Augusta, GA - In an effort to address the issue of AIDS within the African-American and other populations, there will be an HIV-AIDS Awareness Day held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Coffeehouse (JSAC) at Augusta State University.

The day-long event will kick off Black History Month at ASU. Sandra Wimberly, health educator for the Richmond County Board of Health, will speak at 11 a.m. A film, Out of Control: AIDS in Black America, will be shown at noon.

An MCG representative will be on hand to provide free HIV testing from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Butler Meeting room in the JSAC.
