Free program at ASU will focus on software security
Augusta, GA – The Internet threat has shifted. What used to be a playground for hackers is now a borderless abyss of organized crime fueled by financial gain.
The James M. Hull College of Business and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Augusta State University are sponsoring a security program on Friday, March 16, from 1-3 p.m. in 170 University Hall.
Patrick Gray, senior security strategist for Cisco Systems, will present I am Who I am. Maybe at the beginning of the program. A 20-year veteran of the FBI, Mr. Gray will explore the current Internet threat by highlighting the newest cyber criminals and examining the latest tactics employed by these predators. He will address how the bureau interacts with this new crime element and how we can prepare our infrastructures to stave off attacks and protect businesses.
The free event is presented by the Greater Augusta Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association, and registration will begin at 12:45 p.m. in University Hall.
