ASU to host Dia del Idioma

Augusta, Ga. – A day of Spanish language and culture, Dia del Idioma, will be held on Saturday, April 14, from 5:30-7 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Jaguar Student Activities Center at Augusta State University.

Based on their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, students will compete for prizes. Highlighting the event will be a free concert by Los Jefes at 7 p.m.

Los Jefes, a Mexican band from Minnesota, will perform in the musical style of corrido. Corridos are songs that inform people in the Mexican community of current events. The band has performed at various festivals throughout Minnesota and has opened for Mexican artists Los Cadetes de Linares, Raza Obrera, and Banda Limon.
