Guest speaker to discuss scholarship of teaching and learning

Augusta, Ga. - Barbara Cambridge, consultant for the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning will give two presentations on Tuesday, April 22, at Augusta State University.

The first presentation, Why is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Important? will be held at 10 a.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Coffeehouse, followed by another presentation at 2 p.m. in 170 University Hall on What is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning?

Dr. Cambridge, a professor of English and associate dean of the faculties at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, has served as the vice president for fields of inquiry and action at the American Association for Higher Education. Her current work focuses on defining and developing campus cultures that support the scholarship of teaching and learning, creating and using electronic portfolios, and using data as a basis for changes in campus structures, policies, and practices.
