Georgia officials to hold symposium on ASU campus
Augusta, Ga. – Georgia on the Move, Governor Sonny Perdue’s initiative to enhance state government customer service efforts, will pay a visit to the Augusta State University campus on Wednesday, June 6, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Washington Hall Towers.
Georgia on the Move is focused on building relationships between government officials and taxpayers by moving state government outside Atlanta for a few days. The visit to Augusta State University is part of a three-day event in which state and local officials will discuss education, give motivational presentations to school children, tour local correctional facilities, participate in team building exercises, hold open meetings, and answer questions from the public in an effort to support the governor’s vision for a safer Georgia.
Members of the ASU Criminal Justice faculty are scheduled to participate in the education symposium, along with Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner James Donald, and Department of Juvenile Justice Deputy Commissioner Rob Rosenbloom.
The event is a collaboration between the Department of Human Resources, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Board of Pardons and Paroles, the Department of Corrections, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, the Children and Youth Coordinating Council and Augusta and Columbia County officials.
