Contest solicits commercials from students

Augusta, Ga. – Augusta State University is looking to its students—and the World Wide Web—to let everyone know what makes the school so unique. Current students can participate in a video contest by posting commercials for ASU, 30 seconds in length and tagged with “ASUcontest” on the YouTube website, by Sept. 14.

Those with aug.edu email accounts can vote for their favorite video online. The top 10 finalists will have their commercials shown during a September event where a panel of expert judges and audience votes will select the winner. Cash prizes for the winners are $500 for first, $250 for second, and $100 for third place. In addition, the winning entries could be broadcast on television as a commercial for the university.

The contest is being sponsored by the Office of Public Relations and Publications and the Office of Student Activities. For more information, call the public relations office at 706-737-1444.
