Design Guidelines
If you design your own publication, conformity with these guidelines
will ensure that it is consistent with other campus publications and that it
reinforces the university's visual identity.
The Coat-of-Arms (for formal use only)
The Augusta State University coat-of-arms is to be used on formal printed pieces only,
such as commencement programs, certificates, and invitations. It is not used
for other campus purposes unless approved by the president's office. If you have
obtained approval to use the coat-of-arms and need an electronic version, contact ksmith@aug.edu
in the Office of Public Relations and Publications.
The Logo (two versions)
Two new logos have been originated to convey the image of Augusta State University.
In order to maintain a respect for history and tradition, the arsenal oak was
once again used as the principal design element. It was incorporated with a bold
new typeface that can easily be identified as the "ASU" of Augusta
State. The ASU logo should be included prominently on all materials that represent
the university. The logos contain an adaptation of fonts for total uniqueness,
therefore, do not try to duplicate them. The logos must be reproduced from authorized
copies only and should not be redrawn, reproportioned, or modified in any way.
The logos may be reproduced only in black and white, reversed, or the official
PMS 281 blue. If used on images or photographs, the background must be clear
enough for the logo to be easily read. A protected area of 1/4 inch exists around
the design, and no text, graphics, or other information is allowed within this
area.
The ASU logos are downloadable from this web site in several formats
for both IBM-compatible and Macintosh computers. Remember when reducing
or enlarging logos in your page layout or word processing program, you must do
so proportionately (the same percentage in both height and width) by holding
down the shift key while sizing.
Other Guidelines
The ASU name, crest, and logos are trademarks of the university and are controlled
and protected by the university. They may not be used by any commercial company
without permission. Contact the Office of Public Relations and Publications at
706-737-1878 for further information.
