Meet the Author
If you’ve ever wondered how to make, pitch, or sell a pilot television show or have ever been curious about the inner workings of running a variety or talk show, you can find answers at the February Meet the Author program at Reese Library. Cree Walker Distinguished Professor of Communications Stevan Clements will discuss his book, Show Runner: Producing Variety and Talk Shows for Television, on Thursday, February 24, at noon on the second floor of the library.
In his book, Mr. Clements translates nearly 40 years of experience as an award-winning producer, writer, director, and executive consultant in broadcast, video, and communications. He has worked on such popular television shows as Welcome Back Kotter, Three’s Company, and The Mickey Mouse Club. He has also trained renowned speakers including Chef Wolfgang Puck, fitness guru Richard Simmons, and talk show host Pat Sajak.
Mr. Clements earned bachelor and master’s degrees from Brooklyn College in New York. He has been a faculty member at ASU since 1999.
