Mr. Eddie Howard, director of student activities, and Ms. Amy Sullivan, student employment manager at the ASU Career Center, were featured on ASU Reports, a monthly 30-minute pre-taped radio program that highlights the expertise of ASU faculty. Mr. Howard highlighted the university’s Black History Month activities, and Ms. Sullivan gave resume tips and talked about the career expos being held in February.
Tune in this month to hear Dr. Kim Davies, acting chair of the sociology department, and Dr. Holly Carter, assistant professor of sociology, talk about women’s issues and ASU’s new bachelor of social work degree program. The April program will feature Ms. Katherine Sweeney, director of admissions and registrar, and Ms. Willene Holmes, director of financial aid. ASU Reports airs the first Sunday of every month on Radio One station at 6 a.m. on WAKB 96.9; 7 a.m. on WFXA 103.1 (Foxie 103); and at 5 p.m. on WTHB 100.9.
The Career Center will host its annual Cooperative Education Awards Breakfast on Friday, March 18, at 7:30 a.m. at the Augusta Country Club. The program will recognize excellence in student and employer partnerships and will honor the Co-Op Education Student of the Year. This year, 48 students are enrolled in the Co-Op program at ASU. The annual Honors Convocation will be held on Friday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse. In addition to student honors, recognition will be given for several faculty awards including the Richard S. Wallace Distinguished Service Award, the Louis K. Bell Research Award, and the Outstanding Faculty Award.
