Michael Searles, assistant professor of history and chair of the Black History Month Committee, moderated a panel on Prison and Society on Friday, February 18, at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. The panel featured (LtoR) Delphine Reese, a management and leadership development specialist with the Georgia Department of Corrections and an ASU alumna; William Reese, professor of sociology; Elizabeth Watts Warren, temporary instructor of sociology; Robert Bourbo, Jr., superintendent of the Georgia Department of Corrections’ West Georgia Boot Camp and an ASU alumnus; and James Donald, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Dr. Paul Harris, associate professor of political science, presented A Transnational Diaspora in the Making? Russian Speaking Jews in Israel, Germany and the United States at the February 22 Cullum Lecture Series.
