When he first moved to Augusta in 2000, Wes Zamzow was interested in meeting people and getting involved in the community. So as an undergraduate student at ASU, he jumped on board as a tutor at the Literacy Center. Several years later in 2004, he began working as an admissions coordinator in ASU’s Office of Admissions.“I enjoy working with the administration and everyone on campus for the betterment of the institution as a whole,” says Mr. Zamzow. “I moved from the Literacy Center on Magnolia Drive to the main campus because I basically wanted to be in the mix.”
As an admissions coordinator, Mr. Zamzow maintains the budget, handles all of the inquiries the office receives for information about the university, and coordinates campus visitations and campus tours.
“The admissions office is an excellent place to work,” he says.
The Three Rivers, Texas, native is also extremely involved with ASU’s Alumni Association. As the vice president for social, he plans social events and gets the chance to mingle with fellow alumni and friends.
He received a bachelor’s degree from ASU in finance in 2002 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree from ASU in education leadership.
In addition to relaxing at the lake and grilling out, watching basketball games, and shopping, Mr. Zamzow enjoys working in the yard.
In the future, Mr. Zamzow sees himself aspiring to become an administrator in higher education and “perhaps doing some teaching on the side.”
