Alumni and Friends Lauderdale Championship Coming Soon

On Friday, April 19, the 17th Annual Alumni and Friends Lauderdale Championship will be held at Forest Hills Golf Club. “This year, we’ve combined the Lauderdale Tournament that was held in the fall with our Alumni and Friends tournament held every spring,” said Mary Davis, tournament coordinator and Director of the Annual Fund. “By combining resources, we hope to reach a larger audience and be able to offer our participants more.” Thanks to Tournament Sponsor Club Car, and three major sponsors, SouthTrust Bank, Augusta Sportswear and Wachovia/First Union, this goal has been accomplished.

Golfers and a guest will enjoy a barbecue dinner and silent auction on Thursday, April 18, at the Maxwell Alumni House. Auction items include jewelry, artwork, golf memorabilia and various items donated by local merchants. The barbecue is included in the registration cost of the tournament, or for $10.00 per person those not participating in the tournament may attend.

There are two tee times, an 8:30 a.m. start and a 1:30 p.m. start. The Senior Division, 55+, may play for $300.00 per team, and play in the morning. Other teams may participate in the tournament for $600.00, individual golfers for $150.00, or Hole Sponsorships are available for $1,000.00. A Hole Sponsorship includes a team of four, recognition on all tournament publicity, and marketing/promotional opportunities on a hole on the course.

All participants receive tee prizes, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, as well as longest drive and closest to the pin.
