135 students participate in ASU annual math contest
A
total of 135 students from 12 high schools in Georgia and 4 in South Carolina
participated in Augusta State’s 28th Annual Math Contest held March
15.
“In this annual competition, Brandon Kearse from Aiken High School
and Matt Clements from South Aiken High School took the first and second
places, respectively,” said Dr. Sankar
Sethuraman, assistant professor of mathematics and computer science and
contest coordinator.
The top four schools in the competition were:
First Place: South Aiken High, Team-A
Second Place: Lakeside High, Team-A
Third Place: Lakeside High, Team-B
Fourth Place: Aiken High, Team-A
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science sponsored the contest,
which was started in 1974 by Dr. Freddy Maynard, chair.
