Located in the basement of Fanning Hall, the Procurement Office is the central purchasing authority for ASU. The staff assists departments on campus in any way they can, from purchasing
paper clips to fax machines.

The office has also handled the university credit cards since ASU implemented the VISA purchasing card program in October 2000. The purchasing card is available, with appropriate approvals, to full-time employees who have purchasing authority for their department. "The purchasing card saves time by allowing the cardholder to order on line or by phone," says Johnson. "Most orders are received in one to three days."

The Procurement Office also manages telecommunication work orders for installs, moves, and changes; liability insurance; maintenance contracts (on university owned property); and construction bids and contracts.
