The 2003-2004 Lyceum Series will continue on April 16 with a performance by Fred Mills, trumpet, and the Bulldogs Brass. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. in the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.

After a distinguished career as principal trumpet in major orchestras, Fred Mills joined the famous Canadian Brass, and for 24 years he played in over 3,500 concerts all over the world. He now serves as a professor of trumpet and brass chamber music at the University of Georgia. Mr. Mills will be accompanied on classical and popular music he has transcribed for brass quintet and trumpet solo by a group of graduate students from the University of Georgia.

This performance will conclude the 36th season of the Lyceum Series, which takes its name from the ancient Greek school outside of Athens where Aristotle fed the inquisitive minds of his students. The series presents a variety of special programming, through thought-provoking lectures, and culturally enriching concerts, designed to both inform and entertain.
