Augusta State and McAfee will co-sponsor hacking seminar
Augusta State University, along with McAfee’s Foundstone team, is offering a free program to help businesses and individuals keep networks and personal computers secure from hackers.
The Foundstone Essentials of Hacking Seminar will be presented from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, Aug. 8, in 170 University Hall.
Some of the topics will include information gathering, public sources, Google hacking, port scanning, Nmap, fingerprinting, Xprobe2, Windows and Linux techniques, buffer overflows, hiding, installing Backdoor and Malware, pillage and plundering, identity theft, password dumping, and more.
Seating is limited in this free, half-day program. The first 100 attendees will receive a free CD containing security tools from Foundstone. To reserve a seat, email contact information and the number of seats to be reserved to the Greater Augusta Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association at augustaissa@yahoo.com. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a copy of the fifth edition of Hacking Exposed.
