African-American INFORMATION FOR Prospective
Students

It’s War VII, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, from 1-3 p.m. in Washington Hall Towers, will be the final military display by Hubert van Tuyll’s military history class, at least for a while. “The show may come back some day, but no date has been projected,” says Dr. van Tuyll, professor of history. For the past few years, his military history class has created displays that have covered various military conflicts and historical figures. He recalls a display by a student who prepared some of the food that soldiers in the Civil War had to live on. Another student exhibited a World War II display that had an interactive quiz that visitors could use to test themselves on the period. The final installation of audio and visual projects will cover topics that include the birth of the Jeep, frontline hospitals, Rosie the Riveter, the A-Bomb decision, and early biological warfare. “Students show real pride on these projects. As a result, it has become a great way to showcase what our students could do and to also teach them what they could do,” says Dr. van Tuyll.
