ASU hosts regional job fair
A job fair for teachers of kindergarten through 12th grade was held Jan. 31
at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The regional fair was sponsored in part by the Georgia Teacher Recruitment
Collaborative (www.teachgeorgia.org),
the ASU College of Education, and the ASU Career Center.
The job fair was for certified teachers, education administrators and senior
college students in the education field wanting to explore teaching and administrative
opportunities at school systems throughout the Augusta area, Georgia, the
Southeast and beyond.
Georgia has one of the highest average teaching salaries in the southeast,
an attractive incentive for any educator across the country who might want
to relocate to this region, said Julie Goley, Augusta State University
Career Center director. Last year more than 45 school systems participated
in the job fair from the local area, across the Southeast, and from as far
as New York and Colorado, she said.
