Homecoming Week 2007

Homecoming Week 2007 will truly be A Homecoming to Remember. There will be a week-long celebration of events, all beginning with the letter “A” from Saturday, Feb. 10-17. All departments are encouraged to show their spirit throughout the week. The department with the most Jaguar spirit will receive the Spirit Award, which will be displayed in their office for the year.

Feb. 10            
A Homecoming Ball. 8 p.m., JSAC Ballroom. The formal event is hosted by the Jaguar Activities Board.

Feb. 12           
All About the ‘A’ Day and Homecoming Week kick-off. 11 a.m.-1 p.m., JSAC Patio. Student organizations will decorate an “A” that will be on display outside of the JSAC.

Plaque Presentation. A ceremony recognizing the Professional Golf Association’s (PGA) $100,000 donation to ASU, earmarked by former ASU golfer Vaughn Taylor for playing on America’s 36th Ryder Cup team, will be held at 11 a.m.

Feb. 13           
Attire Pageant. 2:30 p.m., JSAC Ballroom. Homecoming contestants will show why they deserve to be named Ms. ASU 2007.

Feb. 14           
Awareness Mocktails. 11 a.m.-1 p.m., JSAC Breezeway. Student organizations will compete to make the best mocktail. The mocktails will be judged on taste, presentation, and originality.

Feb. 15           
Arsenal Bonfire/Pep Rally. 6-8 p.m., University Village. The athletic teams, cheerleaders, dance team, and Pep band will show their Jaguar spirit during the evening of food, music, and giveaways.

Feb. 16            
Alumni Annual Dinner. Savannah Rapids Pavilion. This annual meeting is held to recognize outstanding alumni award recipients. For ticket information, call the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 706-737-1759.

Feb. 17           
Athletics. Spirit Parade, Tailgate Party, Coronation Ceremony, and Basketball Game. Christenberry Field House. The parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. from the Sav-A-Lot parking lot on Wrightsboro Road and end at the Field House. The tailgate party begins at 4 p.m. with inflatable games for children and a cookout.
