Wayne Mixon, history and anthropology, was quoted in a December article in The New York Times about the centennial celebration of the birth of Erskine Caldwell. He also participated in a symposium held in Moreland, Ga., during December that commemorated the centennial of the birth of the writer Erskine Caldwell. Mixon, author of Erskine Caldwell and the South, was interviewed by the New York Times for an article on Caldwell that appeared in its issue of Dec. 17.

Kim Davies and Lorraine Evans, sociology, presented their paper Technological Trade and Negotiating Danger: An Analysis of Internet Postings by British Escorts in Denver on Nov. 21 at the American Society of Criminology's conference.

Kim Davies, sociology, has a chapter titled The Utility of Case Studies in a book being published this month titled Controversial Issues in Research Methods.

Michael Bishku, history, anthropology, and philosophy, is the author of Turkey and Egypt since the 1950's: Rivals for Influence in the Middle East, which appears in the current issue of Journal of South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
