Pipeline upgrade offers content flexibility

The recent upgrade to Campus Pipeline provides a number of features designed to help faculty, staff, and students interact more effectively. According to Information Technology Services, the major change is in the way the campus Pipeline page displays content through “channels.” Channels are topic-specific areas that provide convenient access to information, applications, or other web resources you may want to access.

Each user may change much of the layout or information displayed on the system tabs, add new tabs, remove or add channels to new or existing tabs, or update the number of columns on a given tab and the order of channels that it contains.

“This new flexibility to change the amount of information and the way that it is displayed is comparable to commercial web pages such as Yahoo and others,” says Bill English, assistant director for systems and programming services in ITS. “As we proceed with use of this new feature, we will develop many channels to serve the entire campus community.”

Currently, no changes have been made to the email, calendar, or course tools areas. For more information, contact ITS at 737-1482.
