ASU teams with WJBF-TV in joint marketing program
A joint marketing program with WJBF-TV has featured Augusta State in a series
of commercials and introduced a musical slogan to help position the university.
The program, called Partners in Success, features
executives from 14 businesses introducing 60-second commercials about Augusta
State University. Approximately 325 commercials ran during the month of June,
and 75 will be included in a late summer campaign.
The business partners in this program include Phoenix Commercial Printers, Merrys
Trash and Treasures, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Wachovia Bank, French Market
Grille, SunTrust Bank, Georgia Bank and Trust, Southern Eye Center, Milton Ruben
Chevrolet, First Bank of Georgia, Health Center Credit Union, and Meybohm Realty
(E.G. Meybohm and Gardelle Lewis). Commercials with Very Vera and Company will
air in late summer. Windsor Jewelers also partnered with ASU on Comcast and
WRDW-TV.
The Partners in Success program was spearheaded
by Don Howard, associate professor of economics. The musical slogan, which was
used in all the commercials, was repeated in a subsequent advertising campaign
for campus visitation, which ran
from June 21-27 on several area stations.
Another new effort for the marketing initiative is an outdoor billboard (below),
which will be located on Broad Street near 15th.
