Howard named director of student activities

Eddie J. Howard, Jr., has been named director of student activities at Augusta State University. He comes to the university from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, where he had served as director of student activities since 1998.

Mr. Howard was also the assistant director of student services at the University of Louisville for three years prior to his position at GC&SU. During his time there, he was the Greek Advisor for the National Pan-Hellenic Council for one year. He also was the graduate resident of the Creswell Community at the University of Georgia.

"We are extremely excited to have Mr. Howard as our new director of student activities," says Joyce Jones, dean of students. "His experience at Georgia College & State University will be extremely valuable and he'll take us into the future with new programs and new ideas."

Mr. Howard received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater arts with an emphasis in telecommunications from Valdosta State University and a Master of Education degree in student personnel in higher education from the University of Georgia.
