Ms. Nadia Jilani, a 2004 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in political science, will travel to Germany this fall to begin work with two of Germany's top immigration scholars, Dr. Uwe Hunger and Dr. Dietrich Thraenhardt, at the University of Muenster. While in Germany she will research the role of Muslim women in German politics. In addition to research, she will also help teach two comparative politics classes at the university. Ms. Jilani was chosen after a lengthy application process that included a detailed research proposal. She is the second ASU alumni in three years to study in Muenster. Mr. Mark Lockard, a 2002 political science graduate, also studied at the University of Muenster as a Fulbright Scholar. According to Dr. Hunger and Dr. Thraenhardt, Ms. Jilani was chosen on the basis of her “strong research proposal, broad training, German language skills, and because of ASU's close relationship with Muenster.” Other News: Brauer | Carter | Harris | Nelson | New State College | Fellowship | All-Americans | Tovey | Faculty Spotlight | Staff Spotlight | Campus Notables | Photographic Review 1 | Photo 2 | Calendar | Birthdays | Office Visit | Quiz
