New associate director of student activities named Ronald Lunk has been named associate director of student activities at Augusta State University, effective July 7. “I am pleased to announce that Mr. Lunk will be joining the Office of Student Activities,” says Eddie Howard, director of student activities. “His experience with program planning, community service, leadership training, and Greek life should help to move our programmatic effort to the next level.” Prior to his new position, Mr. Lunk served as the assistant director of student activities and Greek life at Georgia College & State University (GCSU) for three years. He was responsible for supervising the graduate assistant staff and the intramural and recreational sports as well as coordinating and expanding the Greek Life Program, advising the Campus Activities Board and the Student Government Association, managing more than 100 student organizations, and organizing Week of Welcome. Mr. Lunk is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the Board of Regents Advisory Committee on Student Life, the National Association of College Activities, the Georgia College Personnel Association (GCPA), and the Association of Fraternity Advisors. Mr. Lunk was presented the GCPA Roger B. Winston New Professionals Award this past spring. He was also the recipient of the GCSU Fall 2004 Staff Excellence Award, the GIVE Center Staff Member of the Semester, and the 2002-03 Dr. Bruce Lyon Distinguished Student Leader Award. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in public administration, both from the University of West Georgia.
