Miller named associate dean of the College of Business Administration

Dr. Marc D. Miller, associate professor of business administration, has been named associate dean of the College of Business Administration, effective July 1.

“Marc Miller’s experience and background prepare him well for these new duties, and we are confident that his expertise and enthusiasm will be a big contribution to the success of ASU’s College of Business Administration,” says Mr. Jackson K. Widener, Jr., dean of the College of Business Administration.

Dr. Miller came to Augusta State in 2000, after having served as chair of the Department of Management and Business Systems at the State University of West Georgia. He has coauthored two study books and has written several research articles that have appeared in well-known professional journals such as the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Psychological Reports, and the Journal of Information Technology Management. His research interests include technology acceptance models, end user learning, and online learning.

A member of the ASU Alumni Association Board of Directors, Dr. Miller serves as the vice president for public relations. He is also a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration. He serves on a variety of university committees including University Faculty Policies, COBA Curriculum, COBA Post-Tenure Review, COBA Strategic Planning, University of Distance Learning, and College MIS Major. He is also active with the Boy Scouts of America.

Dr. Miller received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business management, both from Augusta State, and a doctoral degree from Auburn University. He is married to Linda Susan Miller, and they have a son, Alec, who is an eighth grader at Augusta Christian Schools.
