Men's golf team heads to NCAA Division I tournament

The ASU Men’s Golf Team is headed to the national NCAA Division I tournament. The team recently captured the NCAA Central Regional tournament, hosted by the University of Notre Dame in May. The Jaguars overtook top-ranked and No. 1 seed Oklahoma State University, which owned a three-shot lead heading into the final round.

The victory is the fourth of the season for the Jaguars and also marks a first for ASU in NCAA postseason play. The Jaguars' previous best finish at an NCAA regional was a third-place showing at the 1993 East Regional competition.

With the victory, ASU qualifies for the NCAA national championships, scheduled for June 1-4 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md. The Jaguars have qualified for the NCAA championships in three of the last four seasons and for the ninth time in 11 NCAA regional appearances.
