The hammering, drilling, carving, sawing, and knocking at Reese Library will soon cease as construction on the Jaguar Student Activities Center will be coming to an end this month.

“The new student activities center will be turned over to the university on June 1, and the furniture will be moved in shortly,” says Therese Rosier, director of the Physical Plant. “The Office of Student Activities will move in at the end of June.”

Students, faculty, and staff, will have the opportunity to enjoy the new building at the beginning of fall semester, she says.

In addition, renovations have already begun in Washington Hall to house the art program, according to Fred Ricketson, campus architect in the Physical Plant. Painting studios and classrooms will be located on the second floor and will be ready by fall semester. Renovations on the first floor will be completed shortly thereafter, and when completed, will house a new gallery, faculty offices, and labs for drawing, photo, and printing, says Mr. Ricketson.

Renovations are also underway in the Fine Arts Center on a new orchestra rehearsal room, which will be ready by fall semester.
