J. Fleming Norvell Golf House Dedication

A dedication ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in honor and celebration of the new J. Fleming Norvell Golf House near the Christenberry Field House.
J. Fleming Norvell, a member of the steering committee of the Collegiate Golf Campaign, and his wife, Sandra (a member of the ASU Foundation), made a $250,000 challenge gift to the campaign and enlisted others to contribute to the construction of the golf house. Co-chairs for the Collegiate Golf Campaign were Nick Evans and Don Grantham. The Norvells, members of the President’s Club and the Commandant’s Society, are major benefactors of the university and its golf program.

“It is an appropriate way to honor and recognize an individual who has meant so much to not only ASU Golf, but to Augusta State University in general,” says Clint Bryant, director of athletics.

Located next to the practice facility, the J. Fleming Norvell Golf House adds a new dimension to the NCAA Division I golf program at Augusta State. The teaching center/golf house has indoor/outdoor hitting bays, state-of-the-art camera equipment, an indoor putting green, a team meeting and locker room, exercise room, computer lab, kitchenette, and coaches’ offices.
