Employee service to be recognized May 4

Employee Recognition Day 2003.

Faculty and staff will be recognized at the annual Employee Recognition ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.

During the program, those who have served ASU for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years will be recognized. The program will also include the recognition of the 2004 faculty awards, on-campus alumni association award winners, winners of 2004 Staff Excellence Awards, and faculty members who have received tenure and promotion.

This year’s ceremony will also mark the retirement of eight members of faculty and staff. They are: Dave Owens, Jr., 1977,custodian; C. Elizabeth Fanning, 1974, professor of English; Gary G. Strobel, 1979, professor of organic chemistry; John C. Groves, 1969, director of student activities; Linda T. Prior, 1994, assistant professor of English; Gerald G. Thompson, 1971, professor of mathematics; John T. Sappington, 1978, professor of clinical psychology; and J. Richard Stracke, 1981, professor of English. A picnic lunch will be served after the ceremony.
