ROTC cadets will receive bars at commissioning ceremony

Eight ASU Army ROTC cadets will receive their bars as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army at the Spring Commissioning Ceremony to be held on Friday, May 12, at 5 p.m. outside of Galloway Hall.

The speaker for this year’s commissioning ceremony is Col. Lowry Sussman, brigade commander for the 15th Regimental Signal Brigade at Fort Gordon. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Col. Sussman has earned numerous awards and decorations including the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service, Army Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Joint Achievement, Army Achievement, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism Service, and Korean Defense Medals. She has also been awarded the Presidential, Joint Staff, and Army Staff Identification Badges. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy, a master’s degree from George Washington University, a master’s degree from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a master’s degree from the National War College.
