Hauger named director of Honors Program
Dr. Andrew Hauger, associate professor of physics, has been named
as director of Augusta State Universitys Honors Program. Dr. Hauger will
replace Dr. Elizabeth Fanning, who will be retiring at the end of fall semester.
Dr. Hauger has taught at ASU since 1996. He received a bachelors degree
in physics from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in 1986, and his masters
and doctoral degrees in physics from Purdue University in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
I am delighted that Dr. Hauger has agreed to serve as director of the honors
program, said Dr. Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs.
He is a fine instructor, scholar, and advisor, so this is an excellent
fit. The Honors Program is one of our most important academic programs at Augusta
State University, and I am confident that our students will benefit greatly from
Dr. Haugers guidance. He has big shoes to fill, however, following the
stellar leadership of Dr. Beth Fanning in this role for many years.
