Dodd named associate vice president for
academic affairs
Dr. William M. Dodd, associate dean of the Pamplin College of
Arts and Sciences at Augusta State University, has been named associate vice
president for academic affairs. Dr. Dodd will assume his new duties on January
1, 2004.
Dr. Dodd, an alumnus of ASU, has taught at the university since 1979. He has
served in many capacities, including as professor of English, associate dean
of University College, and director of the Summer Scholars Program. He received
a bachelors degree in English and a masters degree in secondary education,
both from then-Augusta College. In 1984, he received his doctoral degree in English
education from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Dodd has served this university with distinction for many years,
said Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs. He has had many
years of experience with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (the
universitys accrediting agency), and various university and system-wide
committees and advisory groups. He has been a steady, positive leader who has
devoted many hours to working on behalf of Augusta State University.
