Miller appointed dean of the College of Business Administration

Marc D. Miller, acting associate dean of the College of Business Administration, has been named dean of the college, effective Jan. 1, subject to approval by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

An associate professor of business administration, he joined Augusta State University in 2000 after serving at the State University of West Georgia as chair of the Department of Management and Business Systems.

“I am very pleased that Dr. Marc Miller, an alumnus of this institution, will lead the College of Business Administration as dean,” said Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs. "Marc brings an impressive record of scholarship and teaching, and his previous administrative experiences at West Georgia and at Augusta State have given him significant experience and insight. His particular success in the integration of information systems into the business curriculum will be especially useful and important to our students as they enter a business world driven by technology.

“I believe his leadership will be invaluable as we continue to meet the high expectations and standards of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which is the hallmark of an outstanding program,” he added.

Dr. Miller has co-authored two study books and has written research articles that have appeared in well-known professional journals such as the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Psychological Reports, and the Journal of Information Technology Management. His research interests include technology acceptance models, end-user learning, and online learning.

A member of the ASU Alumni Association Board of Directors, he is also a member of the university’s chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the editorial review board of the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration.

Dr. Miller received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business management from Augusta State University as well as a doctoral degree in information systems from Auburn University. He is married to the former Linda Conrad of Augusta, and they have one son, Alec, a freshman at Augusta Christian School.
