Maxwell Theatre INFORMATION FOR Prospective
Students
|
Where do we come from? The theory of evolution states that all organisms develop through the natural selection of small, inherited differences that increase an individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. Intelligent Design believes nature shows physical signs of having been designed by a pre-existing intelligence. Descent from a Common Ancestor: A Dialogue will discuss the differences of these two theories at a public forum on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 7-8:30 p.m. in 170 University Hall. Panelists will be Dr. Tom McMullen, a creationist and associate professor of history at Georgia Southern University, and Dr. Russell Stullken, associate professor of biology at Augusta State University. Dr. Hubert van Tuyll, an ASU professor of history, will serve as the moderator. For more information, call Dr. Paul Harris, professor of political science, at 667-4419.
