Golfer Vaughn Taylor designates ASU for donation
By Joey Warren
On behalf of former Augusta State All-American and 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Team member Vaughn Taylor, the PGA of America recently donated $100,000 to Augusta State to help fund the Golf: For Business & Life program at the university.
A four-year letterman for the Jaguars, Mr. Taylor earned All-America honors as a senior in 1998. He led ASU to three NCAA Regionals and to a pair of NCAA Championship appearances. He owns a share of the school record for top-20 finishes in a season (10) and his single-season stroke average of 71.62 as a senior ranks third for all-time. Mr. Taylor won two individual titles and contributed to seven team titles in his career.
Mr. Taylor's donation was part of the PGA's designation of $2.6 million to charities, colleges and universities chosen by the players.
