Ellington is named coordinator of alumni relations

Michele Ellington has been named as the coordinator of alumni relations and special events at Augusta State University.

Ms. Ellington formerly served as the senior conference coordinator at the Medical College of Georgia’s Division of Continuing Education.

“She’s the point person,” says Helen Hendee, director of major gifts and alumni relations. “She’ll work with alumni to bring them back to the university and continue their involvement and interest with their alma mater.”

Ms. Ellington’s main responsibilities will include organizing special events and working with alumni. She will be the staff liaison to the alumni association board of directors. “We feel very fortunate that we were able to attract someone of her caliber,” Ms. Hendee says.

Ms. Ellington earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics and journalism in 1989 from the University of Georgia.
